We are seeking a Field Hydrogeologist who enjoys hands‑on field work, practical problem solving, and working closely with drilling and dewatering teams on active mine sites. This position offers a FIFO 8:6 roster, providing an excellent balance of site exposure and time at home.
About the Role
As a Field Hydrogeologist, you will play a key role in delivering onsite hydrogeological programs, supervising drilling and pump‑test contractors, collecting high‑quality data and supporting operational teams with groundwater management. You will work closely with mine planning, dewatering and environmental teams across site.

About the Role
As a Field Hydrogeologist, you will play a key role in delivering onsite hydrogeological programs, supervising drilling and pump‑test contractors, collecting high‑quality data and supporting operational teams with groundwater management. You will work closely with mine planning, dewatering and environmental teams across site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical onsite rig supervision, including production, monitoring and injection bore design
- Conduct hydrogeological logging of drill samples
- Supervise drilling and pump‑testing contractors, including management of drilling plods
- Undertake field tasks: groundwater sampling, well installations, site reconnaissance, water‑level measurements and bore census
- Analyse and interpret hydrogeological data, including test pump analysis
- Prepare internal reports and contribute to regulatory documentation
- Liaise between mine planning, dewatering teams and other operational departments
You’ll bring a strong commitment to safety, a practical mindset and an enthusiasm for outdoors.
- Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, or related science
- Applied hydrogeology or field experience is advantageous
- Knowledge of hydrogeological software (ArcGIS, AQTESOLV, LogPlot etc.)
- Experience working with drilling, pump‑testing or operational contractors
- Strong data management and interpretation skills
