Field Safety Technician IV
Duration: 12 months (Potential to extension)
Location: Sabine Pass, TX
Rate: $63.36 per hour
Schedule: Mon-Fri (6:00a- 3:30p)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Safety Technician IV to support safety and health initiatives within a large-scale industrial facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on safety professional who thrives in dynamic field environments and is passionate about promoting a strong safety culture while supporting major operational and project activities.
This position is primarily field-based, with approximately 80% of time spent in the field and 20% supporting permit office activities, working closely with operations, construction, maintenance, and contractor personnel.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a visible safety leader by coaching and mentoring employees, contractors, and subcontractors on safe work practices.
  • Support the implementation and execution of site Safety, Security, Health & Environmental (SSHE) programs.
  • Conduct regular field safety observations, inspections, and hazard identification walks.
  • Assist in resolving safety concerns and implementing corrective actions.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-job safety discussions, and last-minute risk assessments.
  • Participate in incident investigations and help identify root causes and preventive measures.
  • Support work permitting activities, ensuring compliance with site safety standards and procedures.
  • Promote safety recognition programs and help foster a positive safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, construction, and contractor personnel to drive continuous safety improvement.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness activities and site safety initiatives as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial, construction, plant, or operational safety roles.
  • Associate Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications, or equivalent advanced safety training.
  • Experience supporting large industrial projects and multi-contractor environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hazard recognition, risk assessment, and safety compliance programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Crane and heavy equipment activities.
  • Confined space entry programs.
  • Work at heights and fall protection systems.
  • Permit-to-work systems including:
    • Confined Space Entry
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Excavation Permits
    • Hot Work
    • Elevated Work Permits
    • Critical Lift and Crane Permits
