About the Role We are currently seeking a motivated Field Technician (Geology) to join a leading Tier 1 mining company on an 8:6 FIFO roster. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 6 months’ experience looking to build their career in a high-performing mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist geologists with sampling, logging, and field data collection
- Collect, label, and manage geological samples (RC and diamond drilling)
- Support drilling programs and maintain data accuracy
- Conduct sample preparation and core yard activities
- Maintain field equipment and adhere to safety procedures
- Daily escorts of team members through the Autonomous Operating Zone
- Dispatch of sample bulka bags to offsite laboratories
- Pre-Starts & maintenance of vehicles by ensuring thorough fault reporting and on-time vehicle delivery to the workshop.
About You
- Previous Field Assistant experience in a similar field-based geology role
- Current First Aid (essential)
- 4WD certification (essential)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in remote environments
- Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
- Forklift licence
- Opportunity to work with a Tier 1 mining operator
