We are working with our oil and gas client, seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Global Oil and Gas Client on an initial 6-month contract with possible extension. The Finance Business Partner is responsible for supporting the Corporate stakeholders with finance and cost management activities, to enhance budget owner capability to understand and improve business performance.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Accountability for the preparation of monthly accruals in conjunction with scope owners to ensure accurate financials results reported and compliance with the relevant accounting standards and accounting policy.
- Provision of reports that is timely, accurate and reliable to support decision making.
- Cost analysis and variance commentary which demonstrates understanding of underlying assumptions/drivers and provide insights into business performance.
- Understanding and application of cost methodology and associated processes.
- Provide input and support annual budget build, forecasting, and ongoing cost/efficiency challenges.
- Develop and maintain cost models to support timely, accurate and reliable forecasting and allow scenario/sensitivity analysis.
- Preparation of presentation material and submission of budget/forecast in accordance with required timeframes.
- Management of financial masterdata, ensuring correct cost objects (WO/WBS/cost centre, cost elements) are used and aligned to finance processes.
- Identification and analysis of trends and deviations vs budget or forecast expectations.
- Continuous improvement in the ongoing management of the above activities.
- Comply with accounting principles and tax requirements.
- Provide support to audit activities
- Work collaboratively within Finance and with the Operations, Development, Energy Transition, HR and Supply Chain teams
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree – Accounting (essential)
- CPA/CA/CIMA (or similar international recognition), or working towards
- E&P or resources experience (preferred)
- SAP experience (preferred) – FI, CO, PS modules with a good understanding of MM, PM, BW and other modules
- Good communication skills with an ability to build relationships with stakeholders
- Collaborative attitude with other team members
- Attention to detail, highly organized and analytical
- Appreciation for and ability to effectively use technology
- Proven capability to adapt to varying job requirements
- Willingness to participate in a variety of activities beyond core role
