Gas Plant Operator

Natural gas processing facility with acid gas (H2S and CO2) processing, CO₂ liquefaction and storage, helium processing and storage, gas injection, and integrated logistics.

Remote Operations & Staffing Competency:

• Ability to work with limited on-site staffing and delayed third-party support
• Remote startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting
• Emergency response coordination in remote locations
• Weather-related operational challenges
• Extended shifts and rotational schedules

Relevant experience (Required):

• Natural gas processing facilities
• Acid gas processing and operations
• Plant management and regulatory compliance systems
• Software and Automation Familiarity (DCS, SCADA, alarm and emergency)

Relevant experience (helpful, but not required):

• Refrigeration/Cryogenic systems
• CO₂ liquefaction and storage
• Helium recovery and purification technologies
• High-pressure gas injection facilities
• Industrial gas or liquid logistics and trucking coordination
• Membrane processing systems
• Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems
• Liquid CO2 storage loading facilities
• High pressure injection compression operations
• Transportation of liquid CO2 and/or helium tube trailer and ISO transport

Personnel must demonstrate a working knowledge of:

• Amine treating and sour gas handling (Selexol experience preferred but not required)
• Gas dehydration (TEG)
• Compression systems (intra-facility and/or high-pressure transportation/injection)
• Pressure vessels, piping systems, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers
• Reading and interpreting:
  • P&IDs
  • PFDs
  • Operating and maintenance procedures
• Instrumentation and electrical (I&E) systems
• H2S and CO2 hazards knowledge and proficiency
• Logistics & Trucking, manifests, bills of lading, and custody transfer documentation

Physical, Medical & Practical Requirements:

• Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Capability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures
• Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED (minimum)
• Technical training or associate degree (helpful, but not required):
  • Chemical Process Technology
  • Instrumentation & Controls
  • Mechanical or Electrical Technology
• Bachelor’s degree in (helpful, but not required):
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Petroleum Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
