The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Geology Superintendent to join a high-performing gold mining operation in Western Australia.

Reporting as 2IC to the Technical Services Manager, you will lead all geological activities on site to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality ore extraction. Working closely with mining contractors and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in delivering production outcomes through accurate geological modelling, planning, and leadership.
You will oversee a team of approximately 8–10 personnel across geology and support functions.

  • This position operates on a FIFO roster (8:6) from Perth.
  • Immediate start


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all geological activities across the operation
  • Act as second-in-command to the Technical Services Manager
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 8–10 geology professionals
  • Partner with mining contractors to optimise ore extraction and production performance
  • Deliver accurate geological models and timely technical data to support mine planning
  • Develop and execute geological strategies, forecasts, and budgets
  • Plan and manage grade control and near-mine exploration programs
  • Maintain high-quality geological data, reconciliation, and reporting standards
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for resources and reserves
  • Provide technical guidance across site functions
  • Oversee contractor performance and grade control activities
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience
  • Essential: Proven experience as a Geology Superintendent within a gold mining operation
  • Strong background in open pit gold geology and production environments
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing site-based technical teams
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong focus on safety, risk management, and operational excellence
  • Experience with industry-standard software (e.g. Surpac, Leapfrog, Datamine)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meets WA statutory supervisor and legislative requirements
