Our client is a leading international renewable energy platform is seeking a Head of Operations & Construction to lead the full lifecycle management of its growing biomethane asset portfolio. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape strategy from construction through to long‑term operational optimisation, playing a key part in scaling sustainable energy infrastructure across multiple markets.

Our client is a leading international renewable energy platform is seeking a Head of Operations & Construction to lead the full lifecycle management of its growing biomethane asset portfolio. Role Overview
The Head of Operations & Construction will take ownership of construction, commissioning, and operational performance across a portfolio of biomethane assets. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on oversight of capital delivery, operational excellence, and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute lifecycle strategies covering construction, commissioning, and long‑term operations of biomethane assets
- Oversee the delivery of capital projects, ensuring execution is on time, on budget, and aligned with safety and quality standards
- Manage EPC partners, engineering firms, and contractors across new builds, upgrades, and refurbishment projects
- Lead commissioning activities, including performance validation, safety acceptance, and operational handover
- Optimise asset performance to ensure high availability, efficient feedstock utilisation, and reliable biomethane production
- Establish and govern maintenance strategies, lifecycle planning, and asset integrity programmes to ensure long‑term reliability
- Drive compliance with HSE regulations and actively promote a strong safety culture across all sites
Required Experience and Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Industrial, or similar discipline)
- 10–15+ years’ experience in industrial plant construction and operations
- Strong background in EPC project delivery and capital project management
- Proven track record managing large CAPEX programmes and multi‑site operational portfolios
- Technical exposure to biogas, anaerobic digestion, biomethane upgrading, or related process industries
- Strong leadership and people management capability
- Advanced project management expertise (PMI, IPMA, or equivalent preferred)
- Solid financial acumen across CAPEX and OPEX management
- Experience leading regulatory compliance and HSE performance
- Analytical and structured approach with a focus on standardisation and operational excellence
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across contractors, partners, and internal teams
- A senior leadership role within a fast‑growing international biomethane platform
- Direct influence over construction strategy and long‑term operational performance
- Exposure to complex, high‑value infrastructure projects across multiple geographies
