Head of Program Management – Europe

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the European Program Management function, strengthening its organizational capabilities and developing a motivated, performance-oriented team.

  • Oversee the execution of complex engineering programs, maintaining a strong focus on delivery timelines, cost targets, product quality, and customer expectations.

  • Define and roll out a consistent approach to Program Management across Europe, including common operating principles, standards, and strategic priorities.

  • Maintain a comprehensive view of the European project portfolio, providing management with the insights needed to make informed strategic and operational decisions.

  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery practices and enhance governance frameworks, management processes, and methodologies across the organization.

  • Align resource planning, workforce capacity, and portfolio priorities with evolving business requirements.

  • Promote a working environment built on accountability, collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and a strong sense of ownership.

  • Take the lead in addressing program risks, resolving critical issues, and managing escalations to protect delivery commitments.

  • Build effective partnerships with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Sales, Quality, and external business partners to ensure coordinated execution.

  • Represent the European Program Management function within the Global Engineering Management Team, contributing to strategic planning and business decisions.

Candidate Profile
  • Extensive leadership experience in Program or Project Management, including responsibility for developing teams and improving organizational effectiveness in a complex engineering setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage strategically important programs while improving delivery performance and supporting wider business objectives.

  • Strong people leadership capabilities, with experience in coaching managers, developing talent, and creating an environment that encourages high performance.

  • Broad expertise in portfolio oversight, project governance, capacity planning, resource allocation, and operational improvement.

  • Sound commercial understanding and practical knowledge of financial planning, budget management, and project cost control.

  • Ability to make timely, well-informed decisions and operate effectively within international, cross-functional, matrix-based organizations.

  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, including the ability to engage senior stakeholders and align teams across different functions.

  • A collaborative leadership style combined with initiative, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with full professional proficiency in English.
