Overview
This role is responsible for providing best-practice guidance and support to the workforce in relation to injury management, return-to-work programs, early intervention, and workplace health initiatives. The position plays a key role in promoting employee wellbeing, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and supporting a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Coordination
  • Develop and implement plans to coordinate day-to-day health and injury management activities
  • Communicate plans effectively with supervisors and key stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate risks relating to health, hygiene, and wellbeing
  • Assist with resource planning and coordination within the function
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety systems, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents, hazards, and health-related matters in line with legislative requirements
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and monitoring activities
  • Assist in hazard identification and risk management, including critical risk controls
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of health and safety standards and management plans
  • Promote strong environmental and health practices aligned with operational requirements
Injury Management & Wellbeing
  • Manage and maintain injury management and return-to-work programs, ensuring timely and effective recovery outcomes
  • Coordinate early intervention initiatives and support both work-related and non-work-related cases
  • Participate in claims management processes and high-risk case reviews
  • Ensure compliance with reporting obligations for workplace injuries
  • Develop and deliver workplace health and wellbeing programs, including physical and mental health initiatives
  • Coordinate employee education programs related to occupational health and hygiene
  • Monitor and manage employee assistance and wellbeing support services
Operational Support
  • Review pre-employment medicals and ongoing health assessments
  • Facilitate and maintain workplace health risk assessments
  • Monitor and evaluate health and injury management systems for compliance and effectiveness
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on health and injury performance trends
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across health and wellbeing programs
Stakeholder Engagement & Culture
  • Advise and support leaders, supervisors, and contractors on health and injury management matters
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation and with external providers
  • Promote a positive, proactive culture focused on health, safety, and wellbeing
  • Deliver clear communication, training, and coaching on health-related processes and expectations
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
  • Tertiary qualification in an allied health discipline (e.g. Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy)
  • Relevant professional registration with a governing body
  • Experience in injury management, return-to-work, or occupational health roles
  • Return to Work Coordinator accreditation (or equivalent)
Desirable:
  • Training or certification in occupational hygiene
  • Drug and alcohol testing accreditation
