Position Overview The HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems across operational sites within New South Wales. The role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, company standards, and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture across all project activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HSE support to site teams, supervisors, and project management
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety observations to ensure compliance with HSE procedures
  • Assist in incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
  • Support development and review of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments, and permits to work
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and ongoing HSE training to site personnel
  • Monitor compliance with relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice, and company policies
  • Promote proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation strategies
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, reporting, and performance metrics
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Engage with subcontractors and contractors to ensure alignment with HSE expectations
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in an HSE Advisor or similar safety role (construction, infrastructure, mining, or industrial sectors preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting systems
Qualifications
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
  • ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training (desirable)
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
  • Construction Induction White Card (mandatory)

Additional Information
  • Travel across regional sites within New South Wales may be required
