About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project HSE Advisor to support large-scale international offshore infrastructure projects. This position will be based in the south of France, providing Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) support to an offshore work package located in the Biscay Gulf (France).
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe project execution by supporting the implementation of project HSE requirements, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations — particularly within the French legal and regulatory framework.
This is a site-focused, hands-on role requiring strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in an international project environment.

Key Responsibilities As Project HSE Advisor, you will support the project team in implementing and maintaining high HSE standards across onshore, nearshore, and offshore activities.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a visible HSE presence and safety champion within project operations
- Supporting the implementation of project HSE plans in line with company standards, client requirements, and applicable laws and regulations
- Providing day-to-day HSE guidance to project teams, contractors, and subcontractors
- Ensuring compliance with French HSE legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to the project scope
- Supporting communication of HSE expectations to contractors and monitoring their performance
- Preparing and delivering site HSE inductions for personnel, contractors, and visitors
- Organizing and facilitating toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions
- Participating in risk assessments, hazard identification workshops, and safety reviews
- Supporting permit-to-work processes and safe system of work implementation
- Conducting site inspections, safety walks, and environmental monitoring activities
- Supporting HSE audits and monitoring corrective actions
- Assisting with incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions
- Monitoring compliance with environmental requirements and sustainability commitments
- Coordinating HSE matters between onshore teams and offshore or marine operations
- Reporting HSE performance and highlighting risks or deviations
The role involves collaboration with:
- Project HSE Manager (operational coordination)
- Project and site management teams
- Contractors and subcontractors
- Offshore and marine stakeholders
- Client representatives where required
Essential Requirements
- Several years of experience in an HSE advisory role within infrastructure, offshore, marine, or construction projects
- Experience working on complex project sites with multiple contractors
- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
- Strong knowledge of French HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, and compliance practices
- Experience supporting risk assessments, site inductions, inspections, and incident investigations
- Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and safe working procedures
- Ability to work effectively in an international, multicultural project environment
- Willingness to travel as required to project sites
- Degree or higher vocational education in Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Experience on offshore or marine projects
- Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Offshore safety training or certifications
- Experience with environmental compliance and monitoring
