Contract Duration: 6 months only
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities for an industrial site project in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing project HSE requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting safe execution of site activities by project teams and subcontractors.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities for an industrial site project in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing project HSE requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting safe execution of site activities by project teams and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Management for Site Team
- Implement and manage the project HSE system and site-specific safety requirements.
- Ensure HSE plans and procedures are updated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate safety activities among all site personnel.
- Organize and lead internal HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with site safety standards.
- Attend safety coordination and interface meetings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HSE-related matters.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of HSE performance, incidents, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Support project HSE objectives and maintain effective communication regarding safety requirements.
- Review, assess, and approve subcontractor HSE documentation, including:
- Method Statements
- Risk Assessments (RA)
- Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Work Permits
- Other HSE-related documentation
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings and provide guidance on HSE matters.
- Support subcontractors in identifying and resolving safety concerns.
- Escalate serious or recurring HSE non-compliance issues to the Site Manager.
- Monitor corrective and preventive actions to ensure effective closure.
The HSE Coordinator will support activities including:
- Minor Civil Works
- Structural Steel Dismantling, Modification, and Erection
- Dismantling of Existing Mechanical Equipment and Installation of New Mechanical Equipment
- Piping Dismantling and Installation (Compressed Air and Hydraulic Systems)
- Ducting and Small Platework Activities
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in industrial construction, manufacturing, heavy engineering, or plant projects.
- Experience in shutdowns, brownfield projects, plant modifications, or industrial maintenance environments is preferred.
