HSE Manager
Location: Brunsbüttel, Germany (Residential, Site-Based)
Project: Major LNG Infrastructure Development
Contract: 12-Month Renewable Contract
Start Date: ASAP
The Opportunity
We are supporting a major energy infrastructure project in Brunsbüttel, Germany, and are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join the site team on a long-term contract basis.
This is a fully site-based position, offering the opportunity to play a key role in the safe delivery of a high-profile industrial development. Working closely with project management, construction, contractors and client stakeholders, the HSE Manager will be responsible for leading all Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the project and ensuring compliance with project, client and regulatory requirements.
Previous LNG experience is not essential but could be advantageous. Candidates with strong HSE leadership experience gained on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, energy, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, process plant, or major construction projects are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the project.
- Develop, implement and maintain site HSE policies, procedures and management systems.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, project standards and client requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
- Monitor contractor HSE performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support construction teams with risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work processes.
- Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
- Prepare HSE reports, statistics and management updates.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all project stakeholders.
- Ensure environmental controls and sustainability requirements are implemented and maintained.
- Act as the primary HSE focal point for client, contractor and regulatory interactions.
- Degree qualified in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in an HSE Manager position on major capital projects.
- Proven track record supporting projects during construction and execution phases.
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and management systems.
- Experience managing contractor HSE performance within a site environment.
- Excellent understanding of risk management, incident investigation and safety leadership.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
- German or Spanish language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.
