Project Manager / Technical Manager High Voltage
Contract Position (ABU) 
Possible location: 
Groningen, Hengelo, Eindhoven, Elsloo, Schiedam, Velsen-Noord Your role
You will be part of the Engineering domain and work on complex infrastructure projects within the high-voltage grid (110–380 kV) from design through to execution. Depending on your expertise and ambition, you will assume the role of Technical Manager or Project Manager within integrated project teams.

Within the IPM model, you work closely with, among others, the Project Manager, Contract Manager, Environment Manager, and Project Controller. Together, you ensure an integrated, safe, and high-quality project outcome.

As Project Manager, you are responsible for the technical content of the project. You safeguard the coherence between disciplines, steer on quality, and ensure that all technical deliverables comply with legislation, client standards, and functional requirements.

In addition, you have overall responsibility for safety, planning, budget, and quality. You maintain active contact with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and progress.

Responsibilities 
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (primary, secondary, civil/structural, telecom, cables, overhead lines & towers, BIM, and GIS)
  • Translate project ambitions into technical principles, requirements, and design criteria
  • Manage interfaces and ensure technical integration between disciplines
  • Apply Systems Engineering within projects
  • Assess design choices for feasibility, constructability, and risks
  • Promote Safety by Design and compliance with safety regulations
  • Monitor planning, scope, costs, and quality
  • Select and manage contractors and suppliers
  • Actively manage stakeholders, including clients and partners

Requirements 
  • Completed HBO or WO degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or similar
  • 5–10 years of experience in the design, execution, or management of high-voltage installations or complex technical infrastructure
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of high-voltage substations, transformers, GIS installations, and cable connections
  • Demonstrable experience with project-based working methods and contract forms (such as IPM, UAV-gc, Prince2, or PMP)
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines (including NEN-EN-IEC 61936, NEN 3840, NEN 3140) and Systems Engineering
  • Strong safety awareness and the ability to organize projects safely
  • Leadership skills and the ability to connect multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain oversight in complex projects
  • Result-oriented and proactive mindset
  • Willingness to travel and to be present at project locations for extended periods if required
