We are currently recruiting an ICSS Commissioning Lead for a major offshore project, reporting to the Offshore Commissioning Manager on a 3 week on, 3 week off roster.
The ICSS Commissioning Lead will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of all ICSS commissioning activities for the Offshore Facilities.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that all DeltaV and DeltaV SIS systems are commissioned in accordance with Australian offshore regulations and project specifications.
The ICSS Commissioning Lead will ensure that all commissioning execution meets safety, quality, cybersecurity, and schedule requirements, particularly during SIMOPS and offshore execution in the Australian environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all ICSS commissioning activities offshore, ensuring alignment with commissioning plans and Australian regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all activities comply with the OPERCOM methodology and are properly tracked using ICAPS for system completion.
- Emerson DeltaV DCS
- DeltaV SIS (ESD/FGS)
- Field instrumentation (transmitters, MOVs, ESDVs, analyzers)
- Package control systems (HVAC, fire suppression, leak detection etc.)
- Safety, SIMOPS & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure ICSS activities adhere to Australian Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation, NOPSEMA requirements, and project HSE standards.
- Maintain and enforce strict ICS cybersecurity practices aligned with IEC 62443 and corporate standards during commissioning.
- Lead ICSS risk identification, mitigation and ensure compliance with MOC processes.
- Monitor daily ICAPS progress and ensure timely punch closure for Mechanical Completion (MC), RFC, RFSU, PSSR, and handover milestones.
- Ensure availability of required ICSS spares, test equipment, and vendor support.
- Oversee vendor representatives during SAT, FAT, yard integration testing, offshore commissioning, and start-up support.
- Provide technical direction to commissioning teams and interface with EPC contractors, construction contractors, and vendors.
Review contractor commissioning procedures, execution plans, and method statements for consistency. - Attend coordination meetings, contribute to commissioning readiness reviews, and maintain a lessons-learned register.
- Support development of local Australian ICSS technicians and trainees through mentoring and on-site coaching.
- Bachelor’s degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical/Instrumentation, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in ICSS commissioning on major offshore oil & gas projects.
- Minimum of 6 years demonstrated commissioning experience on large-scale offshore capital projects.

- Emerson DeltaV SIS / DeltaV Logic Solver
- Alarm management, database merging, and configuration management processes.
- ICSS networks, cybersecurity, fire & gas systems, ESD systems
- Field instruments (ESDV, MOV, transmitters)
- Package systems (HVAC, clean agent fire suppression, leak detection)
- Demonstrated experience across FAT/SAT, yard commissioning, onshore pre-com, and offshore start-up.
- Strong familiarity with OPERCOM / ICAPS for system completion.
- Working knowledge of Australian offshore WHS regulations, NOPSEMA requirements, hazardous area compliance (IECEx/ATEX), and relevant international standards.
- Familiarity with IEC 61511, IEC 62443, and DeltaV cybersecurity best practices.
