Instrument Tube Fitter (Manufacturing Facility – Full-Time, On-Site) Location: On-Site Manufacturing Facility
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
Pay: Up to $31.00 per Hour (Based on Experience)

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Instrument Tube Fitter in Houston, Texas to join our manufacturing team in a fully on-site production environment. This position is responsible for the fabrication, installation, assembly, testing, and inspection of instrument tubing systems, piping assemblies, and instrumentation components used in industrial equipment and process systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and experience working with tubing, fittings, and instrumentation in a manufacturing setting.

The Instrument Tube Fitter plays a critical role in ensuring systems are assembled safely, accurately, and according to engineering specifications while maintaining high standards of workmanship, appearance, and serviceability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Fabrication & Assembly
  • Cut, drill, tap, and fabricate mounting brackets and support structures for instrumentation and process equipment.
  • Install instruments, valves, manifolds, regulators, transmitters, and related components in a manner that is both aesthetically organized and easily accessible for maintenance and future servicing.
  • Assemble and install tubing, piping, and instrumentation systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Install a variety of fitting types, including compression, threaded, flare, and specialty fittings, ensuring proper torque and manufacturer specifications are met.
  • Thread pipe to required dimensions and fabricate piping headers and distribution systems to support equipment and process requirements.
  • Bend and route tubing of various materials and diameters while maintaining tight tolerances, proper alignment, and compliance with instrumentation specifications.
Quality & Inspection
  • Inspect completed tubing and piping installations for accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Verify correct tubing circuitry, component placement, and flow path configurations.
  • Identify and report drawing discrepancies, design concerns, or potential improvements to the Engineering Department.
  • Ensure all assemblies meet company quality standards and customer requirements.
Testing & Troubleshooting
  • Perform pressure testing, leak testing, and integrity checks on tubing and piping systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues related to fittings, tubing runs, component placement, and system performance.
  • Document test results and communicate findings to supervisors and quality personnel.
  • Prepare completed systems for final testing and commissioning.
Collaboration & Safety
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Test departments to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the manufacturing facility.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.
Qualifications
  • Experience in instrument tube fitting, mechanical assembly, industrial piping, or a related manufacturing field.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, assembly prints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with tubing benders, threading equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation components, tubing systems, and industrial fittings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, and handling materials and components as required.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay: Up to $31.00 per hour

Work Environment This position is performed entirely on-site within a manufacturing facility and requires regular interaction with production equipment, fabrication tools, and industrial assembly processes.
