Position Summary The Junior Electrical Engineer supports the development of electrical design packages for industrial and power-related projects. This role focuses on wiring diagrams, small device selection, and detailed, task-oriented design work. The engineer will assist senior staff with single line diagram development and coordination of electrical interfaces with piping, lube oil, water, and auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wiring & Schematic Development

    • Create and update wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and control schematics for equipment, skids, and plant systems.

    • Ensure drawings reflect accurate terminations, device IDs, cable routing, and control logic.

    • Device Selection & Component Support

      • Identify and select small electrical devices such as instruments, switches, sensors, junction boxes, and field components.

      • Prepare data sheets and assist in vendor evaluations for basic components.

      • Single Line Diagram Support

        • Assist in developing and revising single line diagrams for LV/MV distribution systems.

        • Support load lists, breaker/fuse selection, and equipment labeling as directed by senior engineers.

        • Detailed Design Work

          • Perform detailed and repetitive design tasks such as tagging devices, updating cable schedules, and maintaining drawing accuracy.

          • Maintain document control standards and ensure consistency across engineering packages.

          • System Coordination (Piping, Lube Oil, Water)

            • Coordinate electrical interface points with piping, lube oil, water, and auxiliary system designs.

            • Ensure electrical requirements for pumps, valves, heaters, instrumentation, and packaged equipment are clearly defined.

            • Support layout coordination with mechanical and process teams.

            • Project Support Activities

              • Review vendor documents for basic electrical content.

              • Assist with redlines, RFIs, updates to as-built drawings, and construction support tasks.

              • Participate in internal design reviews and cross-discipline coordination meetings.

                Minimum Qualifications
                • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

                • 0–3 years of experience in industrial, power, or manufacturing project environments.

                • Familiarity with wiring diagrams, schematics, and basic electrical devices.

                • Exposure to single line diagrams and fundamentals of power distribution.

                • Basic understanding of industrial systems (piping, lube oil, water) is a plus.

                • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar electrical drafting/design tools.

                Preferred Qualifications
                • Internship or co-op experience with an EPC, OEM, or industrial facility.

                • Knowledge of NEC/IEEE or other relevant electrical standards.

                • Experience supporting packaged equipment or skid-based systems.

                Key Competencies
                • Strong attention to detail and willingness to perform repetitive, accuracy-critical tasks.

                • Eagerness to learn from senior engineers and grow technical competency.

                • Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline environment.

                • Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple small tasks simultaneously.
