Position Title: JS.FIN.006 Team Leader -Travel
Grade: NJS 13
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Team Leader -Travel within the Accounts unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
This position is responsible for leading and managing all travel for Judicial Officers and NJSS Executive Management and Staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional travel services is achieved. The role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of travel arrangements, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving team performance to achieve Judiciary goals.

The role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of travel arrangements, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving team performance to achieve Judiciary goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the travel team, ensuring effective execution of travel bookings, accommodation arrangements, vehicle hire, travel allowances, clothing allowances and customer service etc., for all day-to-day travel and logistics for Chief Justice, Judges, Executive Management, Managers and staff for all domestic and international travel.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and productivity.
- Monitor travel industry trends, updates, and technologies to optimize service offerings.
- Handle complex travel arrangements and resolve escalated customer issues.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment that encourages growth and excellence.
- Take lead in any liaison with commercial banks as and when required with international payments for travel ensuring visa payments are in order including payment of relevant bonds.
- Develop, review, and manage budgets and financial reports related to travel operations.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and partners to negotiate contracts and ensure value for clients.
- Implement and monitor compliance with travel industry regulations
- Provide ongoing feedback and performance reviews to support staff facilitating professional development and career progression.
- All other duties as directed by authority in relation to and as applicable to the position.
- Bachelor in Tourism & Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4 years’ experience in the travel industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of travel software and reservation systems.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Financial acumen with budgeting and forecasting experience.
- High level of organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Adaptability and flexibility to manage the ever-changing landscape of the travel industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for travel and providing exceptional travel experiences.
- Empathetic leader with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Bachelor in Tourism & Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4 years or more experience in similar role.
