Position Title: JS.LEG.002 Administrative Officer
Grade: NJS 09
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Administrative Officer within the Administration unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
The Administration Officer - Legal will provide crucial administrative support to the legal department, ensuring efficient operation and management of legal documentation, compliance with legal protocols, and support in legal research and case preparation.

The Administration Officer - Legal will provide crucial administrative support to the legal department, ensuring efficient operation and management of legal documentation, compliance with legal protocols, and support in legal research and case preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize legal documentation, including contracts, case files, and corporate documents.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts and government agencies.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings to support legal proceedings and advice.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics for legal team and department events.
- Liaise with internal business units and external entities, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Monitor legal division compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the legal team and management.
- Handle confidential information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental procedures and policies.
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing email correspondence, and filing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director, Manager or Supervisor.
- Diploma in law, legal studies, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of secretarial or administrative work experience in a legal environment.
- Office Administration.
- Computer Literate (Outlook, MS Office).
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Customer Focused.
- Use own initiative.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision and under pressure Attention to detail.
- Interpersonal communication.
- Degree in Legal Studies, Law, Office Administration or a related field.
- 5 years of administrative work experience in a legal environment.
