Position Title: JS.RPC.007 Assistant Publication & Reports Officer
Grade: NJS 05
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Assistant Publication & Reports Officer within the Registry Development & Change unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
This position is designed to support the Publication & Reports Officer by ensuring accurate reflection of the latest management practices, innovations, and technologies in all publications and reports, thus contributing to the institution’s goal of maintaining operational efficiency and staying at the forefront of industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the end-to-end process of producing publications, including research, writing, editing, and distribution.
  • Collect data from various sources for inclusion in reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Help in the preparation of presentation materials and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of new software or technologies that enhance publication and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the creation of strategic documents and reports under the guidance of the Publication & Reports Officer.
  • Facilitate the organization of workshops and meetings related to publications and reports.
  • Maintain a database of all publications and reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Provide logistical support for the distribution of publications and communication with stakeholders.
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting of project timelines and milestones related to publications.
  • Engage in regular communication with team members and stakeholders to collect feedback and improve future publications.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Journalism, Communications, or related fields.
  • 2 years’ worth of experience in publishing, reporting, or a similar role.
  • General knowledge of publishing processes and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and publishing software.
  • Familiarity with stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Proficient in data collection and basic analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
  • Advance Diploma in Journalism, Communications, English, preferred diploma or a related field.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience preferably with exposure to legal or judicial environments.
