Position Title: JS.SAM.013 Assistant Sheriff Process Enforcement

The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Assistant Sheriff Process Enforcement within the Sheriff Enforcement unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
The Assistant Sheriff Process Enforcement serves as a key support role within the Sheriff Enforcement unit, under the Sheriff division, focusing on the execution of court orders and enforcement of legal judgments in Papua New Guinea. This position is pivotal for the operational efficiency of the Sheriff's office, providing crucial assistance to the Deputy Sheriff - Enforcement in managing and overseeing a team of officers. The role exists to ensure that the processes and directives of the court are implemented effectively and efficiently, upholding the law and maintaining public trust.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the execution of court orders and legal judgments, ensuring adherence to legal standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational strategies for the Sheriff’s office.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of reports on enforcement actions.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with law enforcement, legal professionals, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory standards in all enforcement activities.
- Provide support in the management and training of enforcement officers.
- Analyze enforcement processes for efficiency and recommend improvements.
- Facilitate communication between the Sheriff’s office and external entities involved in enforcement processes.
- Participate in the planning and execution of operational audits and assessments.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- At least 4 years of experience in legal enforcement, law enforcement, or a closely related field.
- Sufficient familiarity with Papua New Guinea's legal and court systems to execute court orders and understand legal terminology.
- Comprehensive knowledge of law enforcement principles and practices, as well as the operational aspects of executing legal judgments.
- Advanced understanding of legal procedures and regulatory standards related to the enforcement of judgments, capable of advising on complex matters and serving as a resource on enforcement practices.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficient in strategic planning and operational management.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to stay calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Degree in law or a related field.
- Experience in a supervisory role within a legal enforcement or law enforcement agency.
