Position Title: JS.SAM.024 Inspector Process Enforcement - Southern
Grade: NJS 10
The National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) has initiated a major organisational restructure to strengthen its workforce and enhance the delivery of efficient, effective, and quality support services to the Judiciary and courts throughout Papua New Guinea. We invite suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Papua New Guineans to apply for the position of Inspector Process Enforcement - Southern within the Sheriff Enforcement unit based in Waigani.
Role Overview:
The Inspector Process Enforcement - Southern Region is a critical role within the Sheriff Enforcement unit, tasked with hands-on execution and oversight of court orders and legal judgments specifically within the Southern Region. This position ensures that judicial directives are implemented with precision and integrity, directly contributing to the maintenance of law, order, and public trust. The role exists to lead, guide, and enhance the operational effectiveness of process enforcement efforts in a defined geographic area, ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of the Sheriff’s office. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the execution of court orders and legal judgments within the Southern Region.
- Plan and coordinate enforcement operations, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Conduct regular reviews of enforcement actions to ensure compliance with all relevant legal standards.
- Foster strong working relationships with regional law enforcement, judicial authorities, and community leaders.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of enforcement actions to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement regional strategies for process enforcement, in alignment with the office’s objectives.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on regional enforcement activities, outcomes, and operational challenges.
- Lead and mentor enforcement officers, promoting best practices and professional development.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on legal and enforcement-related developments.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Diploma in Legal studies.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in law enforcement, legal enforcement, or a related role, with specific experience in process enforcement.
- Sufficient familiarity with legal procedures and enforcement practices to effectively oversee and direct enforcement operations.
- Broad understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing process enforcement, including court procedures, legal judgments, and compliance standards.
- Deep knowledge of the operational aspects of law enforcement and process enforcement within the Southern Region, including geographical, social, and legal nuances.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- High level of problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to stay calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Degree in Law, Public Administration or related area.
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the law enforcement or legal enforcement sectors, preferably with specific experience in the Southern Region.
