Role: Junior Mechanical Engineer
Perth | 12-Month Contract
If you're a Mechanical Engineer with a couple of years of experience under your belt and you're looking to get involved in large-scale mining and infrastructure projects, this could be a good next step.
I'm working with a major project delivery team that's supporting a portfolio of studies and projects across the resources sector. They're looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join the team and contribute across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage studies right through to execution.
The Role
You'll work alongside experienced Lead Engineers and Project Engineers, supporting the delivery of mechanical engineering packages on major capital projects.
The role offers plenty of variety, with exposure to design development, equipment selection, vendor management, technical reviews and multidisciplinary project teams. It's a good opportunity for someone coming from a consultancy, EPC, mining or heavy industrial background who wants to broaden their project experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of mechanical engineering designs and technical documentation.
- Assist with equipment selection, datasheets, calculations and engineering deliverables.
- Participate in design reviews and technical workshops.
- Review vendor documentation and assist with technical evaluations.
- Support equipment procurement, package management and FAT activities.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
Key Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Around 2-5 years' experience within mining, resources or heavy industry.
- Previous experience within a consulting engineering, EPC or project environment.
- Exposure to materials handling systems, conveyors, transfer chutes, piping systems or process plants would be highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
