This is a junior-level Payroll Specialist role supporting both payroll and general accounting functions, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing AP transactions and payroll activities in a structured environment, with the ability to manage deadlines accurately and independently.
The role operates under general supervision, with clearly defined procedures and established workflows, while still requiring strong attention to detail, accountability, and sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll activities, including wage calculations, payroll taxes, and paycheck distribution
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare payroll reports
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve errors
- Set up new vendors and respond to vendor inquiries
- Research and resolve accounts payable inquiries
- Process AP invoices and monitor disbursements
- Examine and reconcile accounting entries and supporting documentation for compliance
- Prepare accounting data, reports, schedules, and system inputs as assigned
- Assist with updates to accounting procedures, forms, and user documentation
- Support limited-scope accounting studies and procedural improvements
- Maintain ledgers, records, manuals, and internal controls
- Escalate issues or unusual situations and recommend corrective actions
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics
- OR a High School Diploma with significant relevant accounting experience
- Minimum 1 year of diversified accounting experience (AP or payroll preferred)
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is required
- Strong understanding of state and federal payroll laws and accounting principles
- Solid mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Dependable work habits, professionalism, and adherence to company policies
- Flexibility with time off during holidays and quarter/year-end processing periods
- Prior hands-on AP and payroll exposure
- Experience working in structured, policy-driven environments
- A detail-oriented mindset with strong follow-through
- Comfort working independently while knowing when to escalate issues
