Job Title: Junior Project Controller
Location: Charleston, WV
Work Type: Onsite
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8 hours/day
Duration: Two (2) Year Contract
Rate: $40 per hour Job Summary
Seeking a Junior Project Controller to support large‑scale capital projects by delivering core project controls services including cost management, progress tracking, change management, reporting, and project close‑out support. This role works closely with intermediate and senior project controls personnel and operates under defined procedures with regular supervision. Key Responsibilities
Project Controls Support
  • Assist with project initiation, budgeting, and cost control activities
  • Support development and maintenance of project control WBS and time‑phased budgets
  • Maintain staffing worksheets and organizational structures
  • Review project estimates and schedules; track key project milestones
  • Update cost management systems with time‑phased data, contractor progress, and trends
Cost & Progress Management
  • Compile incurred cost reports and provide variance explanations
  • Review contractor costs, progress, and invoices for accuracy
  • Assist with estimate‑to‑complete (ETC) and estimate‑at‑completion (EAC) inputs
  • Monitor cost performance metrics and identify early trends
Reporting & Coordination
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, dashboards, scorecards, and project scans
  • Gather and analyze data from engineering, procurement, construction, and accounting
  • Participate in project risk and review meetings (e.g., QRA, HRIM)
  • Provide reporting and administrative support to senior project controls staff
Project Close‑Out
  • Support administrative close‑out activities
  • Ensure cost data and documentation are complete and accurate
Required Qualifications
  • University degree or technical college diploma
  • 1–5 years of related experience in project controls or project services
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Cost management and budgeting
    • Scheduling concepts and milestones
    • Earned Value Management (awareness level)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and standard reporting tools
