Job Title: Lab Technician II
Location: Shafter, CA
Hourly Rate: $20–$22/hr
Duration: 12 months
Position Overview
The Laboratory Technician supports daily laboratory operations by receiving, tracking, and analyzing samples using a variety of analytical instruments and testing methods. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the capability to support technical staff with accurate and timely data.

Position Overview
The Laboratory Technician supports daily laboratory operations by receiving, tracking, and analyzing samples using a variety of analytical instruments and testing methods. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the capability to support technical staff with accurate and timely data.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and log samples from internal customers.
- Perform data entry and use LIMS systems to track sample workflow.
- Conduct routine chemical and physical analyses under general supervision.
- Independently perform mechanical and wet chemical testing, including sample preparation.
- Assist technical personnel with compiling, analyzing, and interpreting results for internal and external customers.
- Work on assigned special projects as needed.
- Operate analytical instruments such as:
- ICP
- IC
- XRD
- XRF
- Various handheld laboratory meters
- Proficient PC skills; ability to create spreadsheets and reports.
- Knowledge of advanced laboratory equipment and LIMS systems.
- High attention to detail and diligence.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Fast‑paced, noisy environment with frequent movement.
- Ability to lift satellite waste containers (~30 lbs).
- Familiarity with hazardous waste disposal is a plus.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (if no prior lab experience).
- Dependable and punctual.
- Strong understanding of proper laboratory testing techniques and safety protocols.
