Our client is actively seeking an experienced Turnaround Lead Planner to support the successful planning and execution of site turnaround activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical planning experience, hands on estimating and scope development experience, and a proven ability to lead cross functional core teams. This role plays a critical part in developing executable scope, managing cost and risk, and coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction stakeholders to ensure safe, cost effective and on schedule turnarounds. 

This is a full-time, long term contract opportunity with a large energy provider offering competitive pay of $65.00-80.00/hr, per diem, health benefits (medical, vision, dental), 401K, life insurance and more!


Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development, validation, and challenge of turnaround scope, with a focus on risk ranking and field verification
• Perform planner training and package redlining as required
• Prepare and validate cost estimates and schedules to support turnaround budgeting and execution
• Lead and facilitate Core Team meetings, ensuring alignment among Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Inspection, HSE, and Procurement
• Manage and control expense projects associated with turnaround scope
• Participate in constructability reviews to ensure scope is optimized and risks are mitigated
• Perform Capital Project integration
• Facilitate piping design and fabrication
• Support the competitive bidding process, including:
o Developing bid packages and RFQs
o Coordinating bidder walkthroughs
o Supporting bid evaluations and award recommendations in collaboration with Procurement
• Interface with Procurement, Engineering, Contractors, and Operations to ensure materials, services, and resources align with execution plans
• Ensure planning activities align with site safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Identify improvement opportunities and capture lessons learned for future turnarounds

Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5–10 years of direct client-side turnaround planning experience
• Strong mechanical background
• Proven experience in:
o Scope development and vetting
o Cost estimating and budget development
o Risk ranking and mitigation
o Managing projects
• Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate cross functional teams
• Familiarity with competitive bidding processes and working closely with Procurement
• Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
• Proficiency with planning, estimating, and scheduling tools (e.g., IPS, SAP, Primavera)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, turnaround driven environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior Turnaround Lead Planner experience
• Experience managing or supporting largescale or multi unit turnarounds
• Knowledge of turnaround industry best practices
• Turnaround field experience
