Logistics Manager
Department: Project Services Team
Reports to: Project Services Manager
Location: Anchorage, Alaska POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Logistics Manger is responsible for managing efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and personnel to support mining operations. This role ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations while optimizing logistics performance and cost across all EPC teams, with special focus on in state Alaska logistics and material movements to support infrastructure, dams and early works programs. The Logistics Manager collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, and transport providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and deep experience with remote logistics planning in the mining industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee all logistics activities related to mining and construction operations,
ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Develop and maintain detailed project logistics plans, providing key inputs on execution plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Provides strategic oversight and leads cross-functional teams and manage third-party contractors to deliver and implement logistics solutions to deliver on project objectives and goals.
• Identify and resolve logistics related project issues, making critical decisions to mitigate risks and develop strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
• Manage all Project logistic interfaces across EPCm teams and multiple smaller teams.
• Coordinate transportation with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Analyze logistics performance and implement improvements to reduce costs and delays.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ISO standards.
• Maintain accurate records and generate logistics performance reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and warehouse teams to optimize operations. QUALIFICATIONS: • Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in logistics management role on remote mining projects.
• Skills & Competencies
• Strong project coordination and understanding of integrated project delivery.
• Understanding of remote mining project logistics issues, plans and requirements.
• Proficiency in project management tools and logistics software systems.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and lead across functional and project departments.
