Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift (approx. 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM), eligible for OT
 

About the Role We’re seeking a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support preventative maintenance and repair activities at an industrial Grinding & Bulk Storage Plant. This position involves welding, cutting, fitting, and physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment.



Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance and assist maintenance technicians.
  • Execute welding, cutting, and fitting tasks.
  • Work closely with maintenance foreman, mine foreman, and plant leadership.
  • Report maintenance issues for proper scheduling.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Conduct heavy manual cleanup (shovels, picks, hoes, brooms).
  • Operate forklifts and cranes.
  • Use tools such as jacks, ratchet wrenches, chain hoists, and come alongs.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and on slopes when required.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Identify, correct, and report unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Participate in required training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience & Education
  • No minimum years of experience required.
  • Welding/cutting apprenticeship experience accepted.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to read and write.
Work Environment
  • Industrial plant setting with outdoor exposure.
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
  • Physically demanding duties.
  • Weekend work may be required based on workload.
PPE / Dress Code Required on Day 1:
  • Steel‑toe boots
  • Long‑sleeve shirt and pants
