About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for establishing and embedding best-practice maintenance and engineering capability at a major regional mining operation. Working closely with operations, technical services, contractors, and support teams, this role is critical in maximising performance across underground mining and processing activities.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will define and execute the strategic direction for maintenance and engineering. You will ensure asset reliability, performance, and cost efficiency are aligned with broader business objectives. This is a unique opportunity to design and implement modern maintenance systems and processes within a developing, technology-driven environment, drawing on your experience to shape long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical support to optimise availability and performance of fixed and mobile assets
  • Lead, mentor, and build capability across maintenance and engineering teams
  • Plan and deliver shutdowns safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption
  • Develop and manage maintenance strategies across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons aligned to production and budget targets
  • Allocate specialist resources to areas requiring enhanced reliability and engineering focus
  • Drive best-practice condition monitoring and diagnostics (e.g. vibration analysis, thermography, electrical monitoring)
  • Establish robust performance reporting and governance frameworks, proactively addressing issues in partnership with operations leadership
About You
  • Trade-qualified in a discipline relevant to mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing maintenance teams
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar maintenance management systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at a senior leadership level
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex data into practical outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in senior maintenance or engineering leadership roles within large-scale, asset-intensive operations
