Position Overview
We seek an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to oversee camp maintenance operations at a major LNG onshore facility in Mozambique. This role provides technical and contractual control of maintenance contractors across multiple permanent accommodation camps, ensuring compliance with service levels, contractual obligations, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Contractor Control & Oversight
Exercise day-to-day technical and operational control over maintenance contractors across five permanent  camps. Verify contractor compliance with contractual requirements, including scope, procedures, manning  levels, and service level commitments. Manage non-conformance reporting and enforce corrective actions.

Maintenance Quality & Performance
Approve and monitor preventive maintenance programs. Control reactive and corrective work orders through  triage, prioritization and resolution. Conduct daily inspections and spot checks. Assess technical quality of  workmanship by inspection and testing, not report alone. Reject substandard work and verify corrective action.

Technical Systems Oversight
Oversee maintenance of plumbing and water systems, HVAC and refrigeration, kitchen and canteen equipment,  electrical systems, fire and life safety systems, building fabric, recreational facilities, power generation (diesel  and gas generators), and solar PV installations. Verify compliance with applicable standards and certifications.

HSE & Reporting
Apply and enforce permit to work systems, lockout and tagout, hot work, working at height and confined space  rules. Deliver toolbox talks and participate in incident investigations. Produce daily and weekly maintenance  reports. Support internal and external audits.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education & Certifications:
  • Technical diploma, higher national certificate or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical  Engineering, Building Services, or Facilities Maintenance  Electrical inspection, testing, or authorization qualifications desirable Permit to work, lockout and tagout, working at height, confined space entry, first aid and basic firefighting  certifications
Professional Experience:
  • Minimum 15 years in building services and facilities maintenance, including at least 8 years as superintendent or  senior supervisor
  • Extensive experience maintaining multiple remote accommodation camps concurrently (5+ camps, several  thousand occupants)
  • Strong technical background in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems with ability to verify and personally  demonstrate work
  • Proven experience maintaining commercial kitchen and canteen facilities and recreational/sports facilities to  audit standards
  • Experience supervising maintenance contractors from the client side under formal service level agreements and  KPI regimes
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo, SAP PM, Infor, Fiix, or equivalent)
Key Competencies:
  • Ability to work in remote, multicultural, high-activity environments
  • Strong communication and documentation skills in English (Portuguese an asset)
  • Independent technical problem-solving and decision-making
