Location: Qatar (70% Onshore / 30% Offshore)

Working Conditions:
  • Working Hours: 8–10 hours per day
  • Working Days: 6 days per week (26 days per month)
  • Leave Rotation: 12 weeks On / 2 weeks Off
  Job Purpose
The Marine Lead (COMP) will steward and execute all project marine units’ safety and quality assurance activities, while also functioning as the Project Marine Coordinator throughout the Marine Execution phase. This role provides expert guidance on marine operations, ensures compliance with maritime protocols, and resolves operational challenges to maintain efficiency, safety, and reliability. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences, marine disciplines, or engineering OR Diploma in marine/nautical disciplines.
  • STCW II/2 and STCW III/2 Certifications required.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum 8 years seagoing experience as shipboard engineer or sea officer, including 1 year as Chief Engineer or Master.
  • Offshore marine unit management experience in oil & gas.
  • Deep knowledge of international maritime regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Strong understanding of offshore installation, construction vessels, heavy lifts, pipe/cable lay, jack-up barges, DSVs, etc.
  • Middle East experience is an advantage.
  • Prior Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) or Marine Consultancy background preferred (OVID accreditation advantageous).
Key Responsibilities
Marine Assurance & Compliance
  • Oversee Vessel Suitability Surveys and ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Ensure all marine units maintain valid OVID reports and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct competency assessments of senior officers and coordinate approvals with OPCO Marine.
  • Review, vet, and steward Marine Unit Acceptance (MUA) documentation.
  • Manage Marine Operations Safety Induction (MOSI) for all project personnel.
Operational Oversight
  • Lead adherence to QatarEnergy LNG Marine Operations Procedure (MOP).
  • Manage periodic vessel inspections, safety walks, and quality checks.
  • Serve as focal point for defect/breakdown management and MOP violations.
Incident & Performance Management
  • Support incident investigation, reporting, and lessons-learned processes.
  • Track and report Marine KPIs, performance standards, and compliance matrices.
  • Contribute actively to bi-monthly marine incident review sessions.
Demobilization
  • Coordinate marine unit demobilization and MUA closeout.
  • Issue performance reviews and share feedback with stakeholders.
