Mechanical Engineer

Overview This role supports system and package design for gas turbine packages, frack pumps, and other skid-mounted equipment. The engineer helps design low-, medium-, and high-level packaging layouts, selects and specs components, and develops drawings and assemblies in AutoCAD. The position is hands-on, detail-oriented, and heavily focused on system integration — including piping, lube oil, and fuel systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in packaging design for gas turbine systems, frack pumps, and similar industrial equipment.
  
  
• Spec out components for electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems (valves, pumps, sensors, fittings, small electrical devices, etc.).
  
  
• Support system-level design across low, medium, and high complexity assemblies.
  
  
• Develop AutoCAD drawings for piping layouts, system schematics, assembly drawings, and general arrangements.
  
  
• Work with assemblies and sub-assemblies, ensuring all components integrate properly within skid packages.
  
  
• Review existing systems and update/redline drawings as needed.
  
  
• Design piping for lube oil systems, fuel systems, and supporting subsystems.
  
  
• Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure designs are buildable and aligned with manufacturing practices.
  
  
• Create and maintain bills of materials for packaged systems.
  
  
• Support senior engineers with system troubleshooting, layout adjustments, and component verification.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience with AutoCAD for system design and drafting.
  
  
• Ability to spec out components and understand how they integrate into full assemblies.
  
  
• Understanding of piping fundamentals (lube oil, fuel, water, auxiliary systems).
  
  
• Familiarity with packaged equipment, skid design, or oil and gas systems is preferred.
  
  
• Comfortable doing detailed design work, updating drawings, and supporting system reviews.
  
  
• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and willingness to learn complex packaging systems.
  
  

Preferred

• Exposure to gas turbine packages, reciprocating engines, or high-pressure pump systems.
  
  
• Experience with both mechanical and electrical aspects of packaged equipment.
  
  
• Ability to interpret system schematics, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings.
