Role Overview
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will assist in the design, optimisation, and coordination of mechanical systems for large‑scale data centres and high‑performance technical facilities. This position suits a junior to mid‑level engineer looking to grow within a consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design of HVAC, chilled water plants, cooling systems, piping, and fire protection components.
- Produce 3D and 2D CAD drawings, schematics, and layouts.
- Assist with CFD and thermal modelling.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams.
- Conduct mechanical calculations, sizing, and performance analysis.
- Prepare documentation, specifications, and BOMs.
- Support commissioning and site coordination.
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 1–5 years mechanical design or building‑services experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of mission‑critical cooling systems.
- Exposure to CFD modelling.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, EN, ISO standards.
- Consultancy experience beneficial.
