Hiring: Mechanical Engineering Specialist (Oil & Gas | EPC & Start-up Phase)
Location: Ras Laffan
Experience: 8+ Years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Contract: 2-Year Initial (Extendable) | Oil & Gas / LNG

Work Schedule & Setup
  • 8–10 Hours per Day
  • Sunday to Thursday
  • Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF (Single Status)
Job Purpose
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Specialist to support EPC and start-up phases of major projects. The role ensures that all engineering deliverables align with operational expectations in terms of Safety, Reliability, Operability, and Maintainability across the asset lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical engineering support including design reviews, commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
  • Develop and manage maintenance work packs and modification activities
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, processes, and project specifications
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and safety workshops
  • Maintain and track issue registers and risk mitigation plans
  • Provide technical support for Management of Change (MoC) processes
  • Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers
  • Drive improvements in asset reliability and integrity systems
  • Support project tie-ins and ensure smooth system integration
  • Contribute to Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), SBRA, FRA, and other risk frameworks
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers
Key Challenges
  • Influencing project decisions by balancing CAPEX vs OPEX considerations
  • Managing risks related to new technologies introduced in projects
  • Ensuring long-term reliability and availability of systems
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas or similar industry
  • Proven experience in EPC, commissioning, and start-up phases
  • Strong expertise in mechanical systems, reliability, and integrity management
  • Ability to make decisions under high-pressure environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Fluent in English (written & verbal)
  • Proficiency with engineering and office applications
