Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary on-site mechanical engineering resource supporting construction and project execution activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction supervisors, contractors, and site personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project, operations, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Support mine expansion projects, capital projects, and new underground mining developments.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Facilitate communication between field teams and engineering groups to ensure designs are executed effectively in the field.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and proactive problem-solving to support successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety, environmental, and project control procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining industry.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mine expansion projects, greenfield developments, underground mining operations, or major construction initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of field execution, construction support, and project delivery in a mining environment.
  • Experience working directly with construction teams and contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute immediately with minimal training or ramp-up period.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Work Schedule & Travel
  • Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) rotation: 7 days on / 7 days off.
  • Travel to site occurs the day prior to the start of the rotation, with return travel on the final day.
  • Travel allowance provided.
  • Candidates located near Timmins, Ontario are strongly preferred, as travel is routed through Timmins followed by approximately a 3-hour bus ride to site.
  • Remote mining site located in Northern Ontario.
