About the Role:
We are seeking experienced Fluid Field Specialists to join our team as Night Mud Engineers. This role provides the opportunity to work on challenging drilling operations, delivering technical expertise in fluid management, wellbore construction, and high-performance drilling fluids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite services by measuring, testing, and supervising the mixing and pumping of drilling fluids.
- Maintain and optimize fluid properties on rig sites through accurate testing and technical recommendations.
- Manage fluid inventory and ensure efficient operations at the well site.
- Provide excellent customer service, liaising with rig-site personnel and coordinators, and implementing solutions to operational challenges.
- Support operations to deliver the most effective, environmentally safe drilling fluids while optimizing well-bore construction and maximizing production.
- Collaborate with lead engineers to follow general directions and strategies for night operations.
- Degree-level qualification in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related area
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in drilling fluids engineering.
- Experience with high-performance water-based muds (HPHT) and drilling extended reach (ERD) wells is highly desirable.
- Previous basin experience is ideal, though strong HPHT and ERD experience will be considered.
- Completion fluids expertise.
- Strong technical knowledge of drilling and completion fluids.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing operational requirements.
- Collaborative team player with leadership and mentoring capability.
- Rotation: 4 on / 2 off
- Working Hours: 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week
- 6 month initial contract with view to extend
