We are seeking an experienced Onsite Quality Professional to support a large utlility-scale solar project. Start date is asap.
This individual will work directly with the construction and project delivery teams, providing hands‑on support for:
  • Field inspections and quality verification
  • Implementation of the Project Delivery Quality Management System (PDQMS)
  • Identification and control of critical‑to‑quality (CTQ) activities
  • Quality issue prevention, containment, and continuous improvement
  • Ensuring construction execution meets engineering, specification, and contract requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of solar construction, robust field QA/QC experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with project leadership, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

The required qualification and job description is below:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of on-the-job experience in construction Quality Management.
  • 3+ years in a decision-making role, such as managing teams or overseeing project outcomes.
  • Experience acting as an Owner’s Representative or in construction project management is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and building codes
Plus:
  • Certified Construction Quality Manager (CCQM) – offered by ASQ.
  • ISO 9001/QMS certification.

Job Description:

The On-Site Construction Quality professional serves as the Owner’s representative to oversee and ensure the implementation of quality standards and procedures throughout the construction phase of an EPC project. This role is responsible for verifying contractor compliance with project specifications, codes, and contractual requirements, and for driving continuous improvement in construction quality and safety.
  • Identify and mitigate quality risks early in the construction lifecycle.
  • Develop Avangrid Site Quality Plan aligned with project risks, contract requirements, and project Quality requirements
  • Monitor and audit the contractor’s quality control program and activities.
  • Collaborate with contractor’s QA/QC team, construction managers, and discipline engineers.
  • Ensure document control on site – Drawings – Use, distribution, and discard
  • Ensure construction work meets design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve contractor quality documentation, including ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, deficiencies, and resolutions (Owner and Contractor) as checks and validations, test reports, FIP, Turn page, NCR, RFIs, quality logs, inspection reports, and punch lists and etc. Review and control submittals, RFIs, NCRs
  • Support Avangrid site team on auditing quality contractor QA/QC inspections and witness tests to verify workmanship and material compliance.
  • Support turnover documentation and final quality dossier compilation.
  • Maintain Provide regular quality status updates to the Owner’s project team.
  • Participate in quality-related meetings and reviews.
  • Escalate unresolved quality issues to the Owner’s leadership team.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality on site
