About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Onshore Pipeline Engineer to join a major energy development project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the engineering, technical oversight, and execution support of multiple onshore gas, condensate, and production pipelines throughout the project lifecycle.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of pipeline systems from detailed engineering through construction, installation, commissioning, and handover.

This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of pipeline systems from detailed engineering through construction, installation, commissioning, and handover.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Assurance
- Lead and support onshore pipeline engineering activities during detailed design and project execution phases.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Ensure pipeline designs are safe, constructible, cost-effective, and fit for purpose.
- Challenge and optimize technical solutions proposed by engineering contractors and suppliers.
- Review pipeline studies, calculations, crossing designs, alignment sheets, installation methodologies, and execution plans.
- Monitor engineering progress against project schedules and execution plans.
- Identify and manage technical risks, design issues, and scope changes.
- Support project decision-making through technical assessments and recommendations.
- Contribute to engineering reviews, design workshops, constructability assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, and other technical studies.
- Ensure lessons learned and industry best practices are incorporated into project design.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Review technical queries, non-conformities, design modifications, and red-line mark-ups.
- Assist with approval of work packs, installation procedures, and construction methodologies.
- Support the completion of final documentation, as-built records, and project close-out deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and site personnel.
- Manage technical interfaces with related disciplines including welding, coating, NDT/NDE, civil, mechanical, and construction teams.
- Participate in regular progress meetings and technical reviews.
- Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance.
- Ensure all engineering activities are conducted in compliance with project procedures and safe systems of work.
- Champion a strong safety culture throughout all project phases.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in onshore pipeline engineering within the oil and gas, energy, or major infrastructure sectors.
- Proven experience supporting detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases of large-scale EPC/EPSCC projects.
- Strong background in pipeline design, installation, integrity, and project delivery.
- Experience working with international contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong knowledge of international pipeline engineering codes and standards.
- Excellent technical review and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and ability to identify cost and schedule optimization opportunities.
