NESFircroft have an exciting opportunity for an Open Pit Mine Geologist to join one of Western Australia’s newest gold mining operation.
This role will be responsible for mine geology activities at a growing gold project in the Murchison region.
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will oversee open pit geology, grade control, and exploration drilling. This is an autonomous, hands‑on role ideal for someone seeking long-term, permanent full‑time employment. Geologists with more than one year of open pit experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to geological aspects of project expansion, including the development of procedures and standards.
- Open pit mine geology duties, including ore block design, blast movement adjustments, ore mark‑ups and supporting the technical team to ensure efficient mining.
- Daily tracking, validation, and reporting of ore and waste movements.
- Assist with weekly scheduling and planning of in‑pit geological activities.
- Conduct comprehensive in‑pit geological mapping.
- Oversee grade control and exploration drilling programs, including interpretation for future open pits.
- Log RC chips and diamond core to a high standard.
- Undertake reconciliation, wall mapping, and QA/QC activities.
- Tertiary qualification in Geology.
- Previous experience as an Open Pit Mine Geologist.
- Experience with Surpac, Leapfrog, LogChief or similar software.
- Experience with ore transformations (desirable).
- Strong data validation and analytical skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining a strong safety culture.
