Our Client, a Global Oil and Gas EPCI is seeking an Operations Engineer for a 12-month contract with potential to extend.

Location: Primarily based in the Perth office, with offshore travel as needed

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The Engineer shall ensure compliance with QA/QC&HSE requirements and:
  • Provide support and technical / project input to HSE department in developing project HSE documentation and in particular Vessel Safety Case
  • Act as interface between Project HSE team and Project Operations / Engineering teams and Assets group to provide the necessary inputs for Vessel Safety Case development
  • Assist in developing Safety Case Scope of Validation Scope of Work and expedite Safety Case Validation work performed by specialist subcontractor / consultant.
  • Review and verify the Client’s Vessel Safety Case and HSE documentation against project requirement reporting errors/omissions and suggest improvements
  • Review and verify Subcontractor Vessel Safety Case documentation against project requirement reporting errors/omissions and suggest improvements
  • Review other project documentation requirement reporting errors/omissions
  • Participate in meetings with Client and regulator (NOPSEMA) as required pertaining to related scopes of work
  • Assist in monitoring progress of work and promptly advise if changes to project schedule
  • Participate in resolution of any technical problems
  • Identify any deviations from procedures and manage as requested
  • Provide input/feedback for engineering close out report to improve departmental standards/working methods/guidelines
  • Be involved in project HAZIDs/HIRAs and tracking close out of tasks
  • Assist with project management specific third-party contractors confirming all technical/operational contractual aspects are observed
  • Note any contractual variations during project ensuring all necessary documentation is in place to support commercial claims disputed upon project completion and manage as requested
  • Prepare/record/participate in completion of feedback reporting (Lessons learnt, offshore debriefs, end of project reporting)
  • Actively participate in Job Safety analysis/Risk Assessments and ensure all findings/recommendations are implemented
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • 4+ yrs. experience in roles supporting Offshore / Subsea projects in Australia, Logistics, Vessel
  • Mobilisation, Loadouts, Interfaces and Management of subcontractors.
  • Prior involvement of Vessel Safety Case Development
