Piping Engineering Lead – Offshore Compression Facilities
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 8 years (with strong Greenfield exposure)

Location: Doha, Qatar (Onshore)
Contract Duration: 3 Years
Work Schedule:
  • 8–10 hours per day
  • 6 days per week
  • Rotation: 12 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF
Job Purpose
Lead the Contractor in offshore compression facilities layout and piping design, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of onshore and offshore assets. The role ensures compliance with established engineering standards, safety regulations, procedures, and project schedules—without compromise to quality or integrity. Job Context & Key Challenges
  • Strong expertise in Greenfield (GF) and Brownfield (BF) piping engineering
  • In-depth understanding of offshore layouts, stress analysis, and materials
  • Managing tight project schedules while coordinating closely with contractors
  • Maintaining quality, cost, safety, and schedule balance across BF & GF projects
Key Job Accountabilities
Layout & Safety
  • Ensure piping layouts meet industry codes, offshore safety, and operability standards
  • Design layouts that support safe operation, maintenance, and constructability
Coordination & Collaboration
  • Interface with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to align project goals
  • Lead discussions with contractors to meet engineering and schedule expectations
Greenfield / Brownfield Expertise
  • Apply BF retrofit and modification principles, including tie‑in requirements
  • Develop GF layouts considering future operability and expansion
  • Utilize 3D modeling tools to deliver clash‑free, efficient designs
Materials Engineering
  • Select materials suitable for corrosive offshore environments
  • Address challenges related to corrosion, temperature, humidity, and chemical exposure
  • Balance performance, lifecycle cost, fabrication, and maintenance considerations
Stress Analysis
  • Understand the role of stress analysis in piping safety and system integrity
  • Review and interpret stress reports considering:
    • Thermal expansion
    • Dynamic loading (AIV/FIV)
    • Pressure and temperature effects
  • Utilize stress analysis software outputs to optimize piping design
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 8 years total experience in piping engineering
Minimum 5 years Brownfield offshore piping layout experience
Mandatory hands‑on experience in offshore layout design
Technical & Business Skills
  • Offshore Greenfield & Brownfield piping layout design
  • Strong understanding of piping codes and standards
  • Knowledge of tie‑ins, modifications, and retrofits
  • Familiarity with stress analysis principles and reports
  • Materials selection based on fluid service & environment
  • Strong focus on Quality, Safety, Schedule, and Cost
