Lead Piping Engineer Location: Asia 
Contract Length: 12 Months (Renewable)
Start Date: September 2026

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
  • Lead all piping engineering and design activities for a large-scale onshore processing facility.
  • Oversee plant layout development, piping routing, 3D model reviews, and system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international codes, standards, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Review and approve key engineering deliverables, including layouts, isometrics, support drawings, and material take-offs.
Project Delivery
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are suitable for procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and long-term operation.
  • Support project execution from detailed engineering through construction and start-up.
  • Identify technical risks, engineering challenges, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Contribute to project reviews, workshops, constructability assessments, HAZID and HAZOP studies.
Contractor Management
  • Manage and coordinate engineering contractors and specialist vendors.
  • Challenge design proposals to achieve safe, practical, and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Coordinate interfaces across Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrument disciplines.
  • Respond to technical queries and support engineering decision-making throughout project execution.
Construction & Commissioning Support
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Review site technical queries, engineering changes, non-conformances and as-built documentation.
  • Support punch-list closeout and project handover activities.
Candidate Requirements Experience
  • Degree-qualified Engineer or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience within Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, or related industrial projects.
  • Significant experience in a Lead Piping Engineer position on major capital projects.
  • Proven experience working with EPC/EPCM contractors.
  • Strong understanding of piping design, specifications, materials, stress analysis, and industry standards.
Technical Knowledge
  • Detailed piping engineering and design.
  • Plant layout and 3D model reviews.
  • Piping materials and valve specifications.
  • Stress analysis and piping support systems.
  • Brownfield and greenfield project environments.
  • Construction, commissioning, and operational readiness considerations.
