Main Functions Responsible for coordinating with the Control Room Technician (CRT) and other Operations Technicians to ensure job safety requirements are understood and followed, including health, environmental, integrity, and security standards. Supports the CRT and Operations Supervisor in overseeing area activities, ensuring they are integrated and executed safely and efficiently. Works within a crew environment to manage operations of all plant units and sulfur recovery systems. Performs routine equipment surveillance.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with contractor personnel to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Participate in Operations Emergency Response activities for the assigned area.
  • Provide support and coordination during facility start-up and commissioning with the Systems Completion team.
  • Review work packages for planned maintenance, confirm isolation requirements, and ensure equipment preparation promotes safe working conditions.
  • Endorse Work Permits as Area Operator (AO) and, when required, as Isolating Authority (IA).
  • Foster teamwork between Maintenance and Operations groups.
  • Support work prioritization to maximize efficiency and complement other work groups.
  • Keep the CRT informed of operations and major issues.
  • Maintain clear communication between areas to address issues and complete actions.
  • Ensure good housekeeping in the assigned area.
  • Maintain daily logs and shift changeover notes.
  • Safely perform physical tasks as needed (e.g., moving chemical drums, lifting, climbing ladders/tanks).
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance when necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of plant housekeeping.
  • Make process adjustments to ensure end products meet quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Industry experience in operations or similar roles required.
  • Strong knowledge of production operations and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and UFDs.
  • Familiarity with shutdown logic diagrams.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Advanced understanding of Emergency Preparedness Procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety management tools and processes (Permit to Work, Step Back 5x5, Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessment).
  • Understanding of Controls Integrity Management System (CIMS), safety tools, and best practices for production operations, planning, and budgeting.
