Job Title: Pre‑Commissioning Field Engineer (Pipeline & Umbilical)
Location: Paris with extensive rotations onboard and onshore in Afungi and international travel.
Start date : April 2026
Duration : 12 Month Renewable contract 

Role Overview : The Pre‑Commissioning Field Engineer will support the Pre‑Commissioning Lead across all pipeline and umbilical pre‑commissioning activities. This includes oversight of offshore contractor operations, interface coordination, technical assurance, and full compliance with company standards and project specifications. The role includes significant offshore rotation and international travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Pre‑Commissioning Lead overseeing all pipeline and umbilical pre‑commissioning operations
  • Act as client focal point on LCV, yards, and onshore facilities
  • Review and provide technical input for procedures, engineering documents, and planning activities
  • Supervise offshore pre‑commissioning operations including:
    • Vacuum pull
    • MEG filling
    • Flooding, cleaning, gauging, pressure testing
    • Dewatering, drying, nitrogen packing
    • Surveys and installation/recovery of caps and pig traps
    • Umbilical/optical fibre pre- & post-installation testing
  • Participate in SIMOPS, JSAs, toolbox talks
  • Review and sign off offshore test records, OTDR traces, pressure charts, pig logs, calibration sheets
  • Prepare and deliver daily reports, readiness dashboards, deviation notes, and close-out inputs
  • Ensure all field documentation is complete and handover ready
  • Support safety assurance across offshore and onshore phases
Requirements
  • Engineering degree
  • 10+ years Oil & Gas industry experience, including offshore technical/HSE oversight
  • 5+ years offshore pre‑commissioning of pipelines & umbilicals
  • Deepwater/LCV experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of DNV / API / ISO standards
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, hydraulic profiles
  • Previous client/operator experience beneficial
  • Strong communication & coordination skills
  • BOSIET, OGUK/ENG1 & valid offshore medical before missions
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments and travel internationally
