Principal Accounting Consultant
 
Contract period: 31.05.2026 - 30.08.2027
Location: Stavanger, Oslo or Rotterdam(NL)

Main tasks:
  • 1. Financial Close & Reporting:
  • Execute and oversee day-to-day accounting activities  
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities  
  • Prepare and analyse financial reporting, including variance analysis and tax calculations  
  • Support preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting 
  • 2. Entity Ownership & Control: 
  • Take ownership of the accounting for one or more legal entities 
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality of financial  
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations (including sub-ledgers, inter company, and suspense accounts)  
  • Conduct accounting risk assessments and ensure proper documentation 
  • 3. Technical Accounting: 
  • Analyse and resolve non-standard or complex accounting transactions  
  • Prepare clear and well-documented accounting memoranda  
  • Apply and document accounting treatment under IFRS and Norwegian GAAP 
  • 4. Oversight of Outsourced Delivery: 
  • Collaborate with Accenture on standard accounting activities  
  • Review, challenge, and quality assure outsourced work  
  • Ensure alignment between onshore and offshore activities 
  • 5. Stakeholder Interaction: 
  • Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders  
  • Explain financial results and resolve open accounting issues  
  • Support internal and external audits 
  • 6. Continuous Improvement: 
  • Identify and drive process improvements  
  • Contribute to digitalisation and optimisation initiatives 
  • Strengthen efficiency and control environment 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate environment  
  • Strong experience with financial close and reporting processes  
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables  
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS  
  • Experience with Norwegian GAAP (practical application preferred)  
  • Hands-on experience in SAP (preferably S/4HANA)  
  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts  
  • Ability to operate effectively in an international and multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills  
  • High degree of ownership and accountability  
  • Ability to challenge and improve existing processes

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience working in a shared services or outsourcing model 
  • Exposure to joint venture accounting
