About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Principal Contracts Specialist to support the delivery of major capital projects within the mining sector. Working closely with a senior project leadership team, you will play a key role in managing post-award contract administration across large-scale construction projects.   This position is focused on ensuring contractual compliance, commercial performance, and effective management of contractor relationships throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead post-award contract management activities across major construction and capital projects.
• Administer contract payment processes and ensure accurate validation and approval of contractor claims.
• Manage variations, contract amendments, and change control processes.
• Assess and negotiate contractual claims, disputes, and commercial matters.
• Work closely with project, construction, procurement, and commercial teams to mitigate contractual risks and maximise project outcomes.
• Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations and key deliverables.
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements, and contractual frameworks.
• Support contract close-out activities and lessons learned processes.

  About You

• Experience in contract management, contract administration, or commercial management.
• Extensive post-award contract management experience within mining, infrastructure, energy, resources, or major capital projects environments.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and project delivery models.
• Ability to work autonomously while influencing project teams and senior stakeholders.
• Quantity Surveying background or tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Law, Engineering, or similar.
