Process Safety & Fire Protection Engineer

Lead and oversee process safety, fire protection, fire and gas detection, and SSHE activities for the project. Ensuring compliance with company requirements, applicable regulations, and international standards across construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up phases to achieve project SSHE objectives.

Work scopes:

1. Support implementation of and compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements in line with company standards, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.
2. Provide process safety support for refinery and petrochemical design, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
3. Participate in the development, review, and implementation of risk assessments, SIMOPs plans, process operating manual and commissioning procedures for firefighting and safety systems.
4. Review and support design verification for fire detection and fire protection systems.
5. Ensure process safety and SSHE requirements are embedded throughout all project execution phases.
6. Monitor commissioning and start-up activities and provide process safety recommendations.
7. Drive continuous improvement in process safety performance and safety culture.
8. Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of lessons learned.
9. Participate in site inspections, safety walkthroughs, and contractor safety evaluations.
10. Deliver SSHE training and briefings for construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up personnel.

 
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the refinery, petrochemical, or oil and gas industry.
• Familiarity with process safety and fire protection design, implementation, and management.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Fire & gas detection and protection system
  • Loss Prevention Engineering
  • Refinery process operations
  • International engineering and safety standards
• Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, JSEA and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with PTW, SIMOPs, LOTO and PSSR implementation.
• Proactive mindset with strong analytical skills.
• Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights.
• Good English communication skills in speaking, writing, and listening
• Fluent in Thai language, speaking, listening, writing and reading skills
• Experience in EPC or refinery expansion projects is an advantage
• Open to work for Mon-Sat as per project required
