Role Overview
- We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Manager to join the management team at Korean operations. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement for both direct and indirect materials as well as supporting capital projects initiatives. As a growing Chemical and Powder Materials plant the annual spend on spare parts and project upgrades is multimillion USD.
- Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of equipment, raw materials, supplies, and services.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as needed to address issues and improve supplier quality and reliability.
- Identify and develop long term key supplier relationships.
- Logistics and Distribution:
- Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Work with logistics partners to optimize transportation routes, minimize costs, and reduce lead times.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays that arise.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the supply chain.
- Implement best practices and initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams for supply chain/ procurement optimization projects.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and other external factors that may affect operations.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including production, sales, finance, and quality control teams.
- Collaborate with external partners, including suppliers, logistics providers, and customers, to align goals and priorities and resolve issues.
- Project Support
- Support cross functional and cross border project teams to brainstorm, down select and deliver innovative options for future supply partnerships
- Negotiate EPC contracts, seek legal reviews and manage execution from award to delivery
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management or related roles including a number of years in a management role
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of the chemical manufacturing or process industries, you will be familiar with sourcing pipework, instrumentation, valves etc
- Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Strategic mindset and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, analyse data, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in software and tools, such as ERP systems (NetSuite by Oracle), inventory management software, RFQ management and maintenance spares management systems
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
