NES Fircroft is currently recruiting a QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) for a leading engineering and energy industry client in Singapore.

The QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical (Rotating Equipment) will be responsible for overseeing supplier quality activities throughout the procurement and manufacturing lifecycle of rotating equipment packages. This role will ensure equipment is manufactured, inspected, tested, and delivered in accordance with project specifications, applicable industry codes, and quality management requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, suppliers, and third-party inspection agencies to support quality compliance and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support procurement activities and participate in supplier and project meetings to ensure compliance with technical, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Review supplier quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Manufacturing Procedures, FAT procedures, inspection reports, and quality records.
  • Participate in Kick-Off Meetings (KOM) and coordinate Pre-Inspection Meetings (PIM) with suppliers and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns, technical queries, and inspection-related matters.
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing progress and provide regular quality status updates to Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams.
  • Coordinate inspection and surveillance activities with suppliers and third-party inspection agencies.
  • Verify Notice of Inspection (NOI) readiness and support inspection scheduling activities.
  • Review inspection reports and ensure quality issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and closure.
  • Support manufacturing surveillance, performance testing, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), mechanical run testing, and final inspections.
  • Review Manufacturer Record Books (MRBs), certification packages, and as-built documentation prior to equipment release.
  • Ensure supplier quality activities are completed in accordance with project schedules, procedures, and applicable industry standards.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC, Procurement Quality, Supplier Quality, Vendor Inspection, or Manufacturing Quality within the Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, EPC, Offshore, Marine, or Heavy Industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting procurement and supplier quality activities for rotating equipment packages such as:
    • Pumps
    • Compressors
    • Turbines
    • Blowers
    • Gearboxes
    • Packaged Mechanical Equipment
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and supplier quality processes.
  • Working knowledge of international standards and codes such as API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Experience reviewing manufacturing documentation, inspection records, testing procedures, and quality dossiers.
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing, performance testing, vibration monitoring, FAT activities, and rotating equipment inspections.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates holding one or more of the following certifications will be viewed favourably:
  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • International Welding Engineer (IWE)
  • NDT Certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT or equivalent)
  • Other relevant QA/QC or inspection qualifications
